I've been looking at ways to balance my energy levels recently and have discovered that drinking Pu erh tea could be a great way to help. It tastes smoky, earthy and sweet and contains similar healthy bacteria to those found in live yoghurt.
I've started making it at breakfast time with loose leaves from The Tea Emporium in Bath. So far I'd say I feel better than after I've had normal cup of tea, I get the energy without any noticeable dip mid-morning, which means I can wait until later in the day for my coffee!
Pu Erh is said to aid weight loss, boosts the immune system and has a cleansing and detoxing effect due to the high amount of antioxidants, which have.
(Definition: Antioxidants protect cells against the effects of free radicals by preventing oxidation and so help to inhibit disease.)
To get the full benefit it's best to drink it black as antioxidants have been shown to lose their power when combined with milk.
